Digital Democracy
Digital democracy is a concept that aims to use technology to enhance citizen participation in decision-making processes. It involves the use of digital platforms and tools to facilitate public engagement and collaboration.
Two examples of digital democracy initiatives are Decidim and vTaiwan. Decidim is a platform developed by the city of Barcelona, Spain, to enable citizens to participate in decision-making processes. vTaiwan is a similar initiative in Taiwan that uses online platforms to facilitate public consultations and deliberations. In the context of Japan, Decidim has also been implemented in 加古川市. This city has adopted the Decidim platform to involve its citizens in decision-making processes. In addition to these international examples, there are also domestic digital democracy initiatives in Japan, such as PoliPoli. These platforms aim to promote citizen participation and engagement in decision-making processes at the national level.
